Hello My Name Is...

Elsa Holguin


Hello my name is Ms. Holguin and I am a 5th grade teacher. I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso and obtained a degree in Bilingual education. In addition, I obtained a Master of Education in Reading Specialist and a Master of Education in School Administration.  I am currently pursuing my Doctorate program in Cultural Learning toward adult literacy. My passion is to teach young minds to become not only excellent learners, but good citizens in the community. In my classroom everyone is treated with respect and love.

Class Expectations

5th Grade Classrooms Rule
 1.Always be prepared (Homework, sharpened pencils, materials for classroom 

 2.Respect yourself and others( please/Thank you)

3.Don’t talk or disrupt others, including the teacher during 

4.Rise your hand for any question, suggestion, or 

 5.Keep quiet walking out and in to the 

 6.No Bullying tolerated
7. No making rude gestures
 8. No name calling

 9. Do not be rude and impolite
10. No teasing

11. Do not keep someone out of a group 
12. Keep your hands to yourself.

Homework Plan

assigned to reinforce what is being taught in the classroom.
Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday and will normally take one hour each day for student to complete.
Homework will consist of the following:

 30 minutes of AR reading (Monday-Thursday)
15 minutes of studying multiplication facts (Monday-Thursday)
30 minutes Complete worksheet(s) that reinforce reading, math, or science skill being taught in the classroom 
Or Finish any incomplete class work.

Please be sure to check your student’s agenda everyday 
for any important announcements.
